Wasserbillig, Luxembourg, October 2018: On Saturday, 28 October 2018, pjuractive will be supporting the relay section of the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon (FFM), which is being held to raise awareness about organ donation and features Elmar Sprink and Sabrina Mockenhaupt.
The relay will start at 10:35 a.m. on Sunday in Frankfurt. Taking part will be heart transplant recipient and Ironman finisher Elmar Sprink as well as former pjuractive brand ambassador, 45-time German champion and Olympic athlete Sabrina Mockenhaupt plus high-profile runners and title-winners Jannik Arbogast and Maya Rehberg. pjuractive is supporting the relay with a donation to the German Organ Transplant Foundation (DSO) and by including samples of 2SKIN in the 22,000 starter bags for the FFM. “It is really important for us to raise awareness about organ donation in Germany together with our brand ambassador Elmar Sprink,” explains Elisabeth Dahmen, Global PR & Communications Manager.
The starter bags will also include important information about organ donations and an organ donor card. The marathon will be transmitted live by the broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk. The station will also hold an exclusive interview with Sabrina Mockenhaupt after the race. Elmar Sprink is delighted about the keen interest shown in a topic so close to his heart: “Huge thanks to pjuractive and all other sponsors for their support. I’m looking forward to Sunday and hope that we can get the word out to as many people as possible about the importance of carrying a donor card.”
Elmar Sprink received a new heart back in 2012 after experiencing cardiac arrest. With it, he has already completed IRONMAN on Hawaii, the Transalpine Run, the Zugspitz UltraTrail and the Cape Epic race in South Africa amongst others. He is considered to be the fittest heart transplant recipient in the world.
